Dr. Casty Nyaga Hughes, CPA, is an accomplished community and church leader, as well as the Managing Director of Choice Group of Companies, which includes Choice Accounting and Taxation Services Pty Ltd and Choice Health and Wellbeing Group (CHWG). She serves as the executive president of the Organization of African Communities of Western Australia (OACWA) and is heavily involved in initiatives that support the African community in Western Australia. Dr. Casty is deeply committed to community empowerment and is known for her leadership in organizing significant events such as Jambo Africa, Africa Day, the Western Australian African Community (WAAC) Awards, and the upcoming African Australians Business and Cultural Exhibition. Her leadership style emphasizes resilience, teamwork, and community focus. Under her guidance, OACWA fosters the growth of African businesses through initiatives like the African Business Directory, aimed at enhancing visibility and development. She holds a PhD in Business Administration (Information Systems), an MBA, a Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM), and a Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (GDip Fin Mgt). Dr. Casty is a passionate advocate for academic pursuit, working closely with entrepreneurs and individuals to help them build a life and business they love. In addition to her professional work, Dr. Casty is committed to mentoring and empowering the next generation, encouraging leadership and community engagement. In 2019, Dr. Casty was honored with the Australia Day Individual Award by the City of Wanneroo, WA, for her dedication to mentoring and community support.
